FAQ

How long do we go about engaging your services for our wedding/ engagement/ other?
After spending some time looking through the site and enjoying the photography, send me an email and lets rganize a call to go over all the details of your wedding. This is a great way to connect with each other and share all the details of your up coming wedding. To prevent any other clients booking your required date a deposit is required to secure your date and receive a confirmation of all the photography.

Do you offer engagement sessions/couple portrait sessions?

Yes. I love engagement sessions! Not only are they a great way for me to get to know my clients better, they are also a great practice run and I find that the images created are often used for wedding invitations or on the actual wedding day.

How long after the wedding will we receive the photos?

I aim to have the finished photos to my clients within approximately 3-4 weeks from the wedding date. So no waiting months for your images.

How long is the typical coverage for a wedding day?

On average for most of my clients the typical coverage is around 8-10 hours.

Will you edit the photos?

Yes I edit all my photos using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

What is your shooting style?

I don’t like to be intrusive, so for the most part my style is very candid, relaxed and photojournalistic. I aim to capture you just as you are and unless I ask you to look at the camera that is exactly what I am doing. I aim to capture the key moments of your day so I can put it all together to tell an editorial style story of your wedding day. However during the portraits I will offer some helpful direction. I always aim to seek out the best possible light and use the natural environment to allow the emotion and personalities of my subjects to shine through. And you get to have a lot of fun with it.

How can I pay you?

Most clients use direct deposit, otherwise cash or cheque is fine. Deposits are non refundable, as weddings are planned so far in advance.

Where can I find your prices?

To receive my full pricing list with details of all my collections + extras.

Email me: chris@atdusk.com.au

When is the balance of payment due?

The remaining balance is due no later than one week prior to your wedding day.

How much do couples usually spend?

The most popular package is our Premium package as it has an album and just about everything else most people require from a wedding photographer. I am completely flexible on any package that you may desire.

Why choose an album package?
Quite simply so that you don’t have to worry about finding time and attempting to design and print an album yourself. Also the albums we use are considered to be amongst the best in the world and are only available to professional photographers. They are extremely high quality while also being very reasonably priced.

What’s the advantage of having two photographers?
Having two photographers means that both the bride and groom will receive coverage during their preparation. It will also ensure that every detail, every guest and every special moment is captured. We work as a team to maximize the variety of images you receive. Our couples have also valued the balance and perspective that comes with having both a male and female photographer on the day.

Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, we travel a lot – our weddings are throughout Australia, Bali and Thailand mostly, but I often travel more extensively and also for pleasure. Please enquire and we’ll give you a very reasonable quote for your destination wedding!

How long after the wedding how long does it take to receive our photos?
You can expect to have at least 20 teasers the week following the wedding, the online slideshow, and final images 4 weeks after the wedding.

How many images will we receive?
We average 800-1000 images for each beautiful wedding – It seems every wedding I am delivering more and more quality images to clients.

Will we get images online?
Yes, every package you choose and every session I shoot I deliver all the high-resolution images edited and presented with an online gallery + USB of images to print.

Is photography your full-time job?

Certainly is.

My wedding will be held outside of Sydney, do you travel?

Yes, definitely. I love to travel. All I ask is for you to cover my petrol and if applicable flights & accommodation costs.

Are you able to take the typical family shots at a wedding?

Yes, of course. The best time is straight after the ceremony and it usually takes about 10-20 minutes. A printed list of immediate family is very helpful for me too.

Do you have backup equipment?

I always carry at least 2 cameras to every wedding along with many lenses, spare batteries and lots of memory cards to ensure I can keep shooting throughout the entire day.

How many photographers will be at my wedding?

My base collections includes one photographer (me). But I always encourage my clients to think about including a second photographer in their package (especially for larger scale weddings). It offers an additional dimension to your wedding day allowing for the guests and events of your day to be covered from many different angles and perspectives.

How much time should I allocate for photos throughout the day?

Every wedding different, but please use the below timings as a guide:

* Groom getting ready – 30mins – 1hr

* Bride getting ready – 1.5hrs

* Family & Group shots – 15 – 25mins

* Location Photos – Approximately 1hr

Please remember to factor in ample travel time between venues and locations and also take note of the sunset time on your wedding date to ensure that we get plenty of natural light on the location/portrait shoot.

Are you able to print the images for us?

Absolutely, I am all for that. I always use a professional fine art print lab who use the highest quality papers available today.

Apart from weddings, what do you like to photograph?

I am heavily involved with the health + wellbeing space in Bondi and across Sydney and capture a lot of active health brands like Lu Lu Lemon.

I get digital copies of all the images so why would I want an album?

I recommend it. My Fine Art Albums are seamless (lay-flat style) and printed on thick (archival quality) matte paper, ensuring a perfect heirloom for future generations to enjoy and relive the best day of your lives.
